Gun incident reported at Shelby County High School leads to lockdown

SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – An incident involving a gun has led to a lockdown at several public schools in Shelby County.

An email received from the office of the Shelby County Public Schools superintendent says school district administrators were told around

Police were notified of the threat and the schools on Rocket Lane were placed on a soft lockdown while an investigation was launched. At 10.30 all schools in the county were put on high alert. The schools on Rocket Lane, including the Milestone Academy campus, remained closed.

School district officials at this time the threat is unfounded.

According to a spokesperson for Jefferson Community and Technical College, the Shelby County Campus of KCTC is not affected by the shutdown.
