JCPS approves start times for the 2025-26 school year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The Jefferson County Public School Board approved start times for the 2025-26 school year Tuesday night.

JCPS will keep the same staggered start times that were implemented for the 2024-25 school year. The start times remain at 7.30, 8.30 and 9.30

Only one board member voted against maintaining the plans.

JCPS had instituted the new start times along with ending transportation to some schools to help students get to class on time.

The school board also approved the 2025-2026 calendar with the first day for students on Aug. 7.
