Governor Kemp declares state of emergency for counties affected by flooding

GEORGIA (WTOC) – Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has declared a state of emergency following catastrophic flooding and road damage.

The state of emergency lasts until Wednesday 13 November at 23:59

An emergency helps release aid to communities that may be affected by a disaster.

Counties in the state of emergency include Atkinson, Ben Hill, Bryan, Bulloch, Candler, Chatham, Dodge, Effingham, Emanuel, Evans, Irwin, Jeff Davis, Jefferson, Lanier, Laurens, Lowndes, Montgomery, Screven, Tattnall, Telfair, Toombs, Treutlen and Wheeler counties.
