Angels sign Travis d’Arnaud to two-year deal » Email

Yes, that’s actually a lot for the Halos. Travis d’Arnaud is an excellent mentor for younger pitchers, he will be an excellent mentor for their younger catchers, and he is a great bat off the bench late.

I also really like the Fasano hiring of Wash. Ham and Ron are extremely familiar with each other, Travis is familiar with Fasano, and they will all help with the team’s chemistry and with the culture.

Great low risk, move by the angels. If I’m an Angels fan, I’m definitely giving it two thumbs up, and I’m glad they’re actually headed in the right direction so far this offseason.

There is no point in handing out big offers to one free agent. They need depth and they need more quality players around. Adding high quality, valued veterans at low to mid-level costs is a great way to help your team build a winning culture, and I think the Angels are doing a solid job so far.

I’m not saying they’re going to suddenly become a contender or anything, but they’re taking the right steps to help build a winning culture and improve their clubhouse with veteran leadership.

Plus, who doesn’t love some veteran “gifts?” lol
