Benny Blanco Reveals Surprisingly Early When He & Selena Gomez Wake Up (Exclusive)

They are one of Hollywood’s busiest power couples, but Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez are conscious of their time together.

The music mega-producer — who is featured in PEOPLE’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive issue — tells PEOPLE exclusively that it’s important for him and Gomez to lighten up their lives.

“I’m a real morning person. It’s my favorite time to spend with Sel because we both wake up really early,” he says of Gomez, who has earned Oscar buzz for her role in Emilia Perez. “We usually have breakfast at 6:15 a.m. It’s like our moment before the rest of the world wakes up.”

Although there are days he would likes to sleep in, Blanco, 36, says he’s still usually up before dawn.

“I get sleepy at night. I’m like an old man. I want to go to bed early. I want to lie down. I want to be walking as fast as possible all day,” he says. “I still wake up at 6, no matter what time (I go to bed). I go to bed at 5:30 and I’m up at 6:15.”

In the wide-ranging interview — in which Blanco shared eight rules for being a sexy gentleman — the TikTok sensation emphasized the importance of prioritizing your partner’s needs.

“I go all out on every date. We go all out for each other. One time Sel was like, ‘Oh, I want to take you on a date.’ I was like, ‘Oh, that’s so sweet.’ Then we drove somewhere, and she had rented out an entire botanical garden to me,’ he recalls.

And for Valentine’s Day, Blanco returned the favor when he prepared all of Gomez’s favorite dishes, including homemade movie theater nachos and fried pickles.

“It doesn’t mean spending your entire bank account. It just means paying attention: Listen to the things they like when you’re talking,” he says of making someone feel loved.

Blanco has been dating since July 2023 and says he still feels grateful to have Gomez, 32, by his side.

“I’m so happy. I met my best friend. I have a best friend that I get to kiss too. I have a really best friend that I can do everything with and every day is the best day with my life,” he says. “I sound like a loser, but this is amazing!”
