WWE’s The Rock addresses reports of unprofessional behavior on Hollywood sets

Earlier this year, a report appeared in Hollywood trade publication The Wrap claiming to provide damning details about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s on-set behavior. It was reported that Johnson was often hours late getting seated, and tended to urinate on empty bottles instead of leaving for a bathroom break. The actor and WWE star recently sat down for one cover story with GQ magazinethat addresses the rumors about his actions at the site.

Johnson acknowledged that he sometimes runs late and “pees in a bottle” while on set. However, he denied the extent to which the story claimed he was late, stating that the overall report was “bulls**t.”

The story also spoke to several people who have worked closely with Johnson, including actors Chris Evans and Emily Blunt and director Jon Kasdan. All three came to Johnson’s defense, with Evans stating that Johnson’s late starts are typically planned in advance, with everyone on the field aware of when he is scheduled to arrive. According to Johnson, he is an open book when it comes to his actions and behavior while filming and believes in taking responsibility for the things he is actually responsible for.

The actor also discussed some changes in the way he views his career at this point. Several years ago, Johnson had no interest in starring in films that weren’t “four-quadrant” blockbusters designed to please as many people as possible. Now, Johnson has wrapped filming on “The Smashing Machine,” an emotional biopic about UFC fighter Mark Kerr.

Still, he hasn’t given up on family-friendly blockbusters, with “Red One” and “Moana 2” due out in the next two months, and the live-action version of “Moana” slated for next year. Within the busy schedule of filming and promotion, The Rock is still expected to continue making occasional WWE appearances.
