Letters: Drew Brees inspires so many in our city | Opinions and editorials

Rosie, my wife who is 92, really enjoyed the Saints game against Denver. Why? Because her hero Drew Brees was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame.

Being disabled with one eye, bad legs and no hearing, I have never seen her as emotional in some time as when I mentioned Brees being drafted.

Brees is undoubtedly the type of person who inspires people. First and foremost, he acknowledges his creator, loves his family, is sincere in everything he says and appreciated that the Saints stuck with him after his shoulder test.

He has given back to this community in every possible way. His presence has lifted this city many times over. Yes, the Saints will shine again, as they have many times. I appreciate him being around, especially to inspire my wife, and last of all, I hope he continues to inspire this city. Thanks, Drew Brees.

(Now I have to put Drew’s pillow back on my wife’s bed.)
