We’ve heard some significant NIL totals thrown out over the years, but the speculation around Michigan’s the recruitment of five-star LSU football commit Bryce Underwood may be the biggest yet. According to the latest reports The Wolverines are working to get an eight-figure deal on the table.

NIL deals are not public, so there is no way to confirm or rank the biggest NIL deals in NIL’s short history, but a 10 million offer is likely to be near the top, if not the biggest.

“The website On3 initially reported a figure for Underwood could be closer to $5 million, but multiple conversations CBS Sports and 247Sports have had with sources across the industry peg the real figure at something closer to double that,” wrote CBS Sports’ Richard Johnson.

The total amount would be paid out over several seasons.

We’re less than a month away from National Signing Day, but reports of Michigan’s rise have been swirling for a few weeks now. Underwood is one of the best QB recruits of all time and UM will do everything it can to make sure a prospect of that caliber stays in state.

According to On3, Underwood is the top overall prospect in the 2025 class. LSU landed Underwood behind the recruiting efforts of QB coach and offensive coordinator Joe Sloan. The Tigers are hoping Underwood’s relationship with Sloan is enough to get this recruiting over the finish line.
