Former Obama staffer jabs at Biden – then deletes account

A former senior Barack Obama staffer appeared to take a swipe at Joe Biden on Wednesday before deleting his X account.

David Plouffe, who was Obama’s 2008 campaign manager and worked as a senior adviser to Kamala Harris’ campaign, told his followers that they were “digging out of a deep hole” even though it was “not enough” for a victory. Plouffe joined Harris’ campaign after Biden stepped aside.

“It was a privilege to spend the last 100 days with @KamalaHarris and the amazing staff led by @jomalleydillion who left it all on the field for their country. We dug out of a deep hole, but not enough. A devastating loss. Thanks for being in the arena, everyone,” Plouffe wrote to X.

It was his last tweet before he deleted his account.

Facing a widespread rejection by American voters, Harris conceded the presidency to Trump on Wednesday and urged supporters to continue fighting for their vision of the country.

The Democratic vice president said the fight would continue “at the ballot box, in the courts and in the public square.”

“Sometimes the fight takes a while,” she said at Howard University, her alma mater, where she had hoped to give a victory speech after the election. “That doesn’t mean we won’t win.”
