Joe Burrow returns to the scene after last year’s wrist injury

Last November 16, the Bengals played the Ravens in Baltimore. During the game, Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending wrist injury.

This week, he put a tinfoil hat over his frosted tips and suggested the league might like to recreate games that resulted in a serious injury the previous year.

Whether there is merit to it (the Jets and Aaron Rodgers actually hosted the Bills again that Monday night footballbut in Week 6 and not Week 1), Burrow will be back in Baltimore for another game Thursday night. And his wrist injury continues to show up on every injury report, nearly a year after it happened.

Of course, the Bengals can reveal the injury for the same reason the Patriots always listed Tom Brady’s right shoulder injury. They don’t want to hear that they are not disclosing the condition.

There was a dustup last year about whether Burrow had a pre-existing injury. He was seen wearing a wrap around his arm and wrist during the trip to Baltimore.

The league then investigated and exonerated the Bengals. Because that’s what the league is prone to. In an era of legalized gambling that the NFL benefits from, won’t the league blow the whistle on a team that hides injuries that hamper prop bets and other bets?

Despite the injury constantly coming up in the report, Burrow has played well. He had five touchdown passes Sunday. He’ll have to play nearly as well tonight if the Bengals hope to go 5-5 through 10 games.
