Inter Milan 1-0 Arsenal – player ratings – Arseblog News

A first-half penalty, harshly awarded to Mikel Merino for handball, was enough for Inter Milan to beat Arsenal 1-0 at the San Siro tonight.

It came at the end of a fairly even first 45 where the Gunners themselves could have had a penalty when Merino was caught in the face by Yann Sommer. In the second, Arsenal had their moments. Kai Havertz forced Sommer into an excellent save, brilliantly blocking a close-range effort, while Gabriel’s header from a Bukayo Saka corner was headed off the line.

However, Arteta’s men could not find the breakthrough and are now looking to Sunday’s clash with Chelsea as a way to respond.

Here’s how the players rated tonight.
