Democrats Still ‘Optimistic’ As ‘Blue Wall’ Countdown Continues | Live updates

As former President Donald Trump’s poll numbers climb above 230, the Kamala Harris campaign remains “optimistic” that a path to victory is still possible.

PBS News Hour’s Laura Barrón-López reported live from the Harris Watch Party at Howard University that campaign sources see a path to 270, where the vice president hopes to carry the “Blue Wall” states, including Wisconsin and Michigan.

“Nobody feels ‘ghosts from 2016,'” Barrón-López said. “I texted a Democratic House member in Nevada, they are extremely confident that Harris will win Nevada.”

Harris also picked up Nebraska’s 2nd District, which is worth one electoral vote. Barrón-López said the Nebraska vote plus the blue wall and Nevada could equal victory.

Barrón-López said some of her campaign sources said they are starting to feel “a little nervous” but are trying to project calm to campaign supporters.

(The campaign is) “to remind people here what it was like in 2020, where some of these states at this point looked like they were favoring Donald Trump, and it wasn’t until Wednesday and then that things started to shift for the Democrats ,” Barrón-López said.
