How to watch, stream election results 2024 live online free without cable: Fox, CBS, NBC

We’re almost there, America. After months of ads, texts and rhetoric, the 2024 US election is finally upon us as Americans (who haven’t already voted) head to the polls.

On Tuesday evening, the opinion polls no longer matter. The only numbers that will be focused on are those from polls. And while the coverage will be extensive, there are still many questions from Americans awaiting results.

Some 80 million votes have already been cast, and tens of thousands more have been cast today. In the end, however, it may all come down to the results of seven swing states.

Whether you support Donald Trump or Kamala Harris, we have the answers you’re looking for.

When will the polling stations close and when will the first result projections of the 2024 election be made?

The first polls close in Kentucky at 6 p.m. ET – so the first projections, based on exit polls, could come shortly after. Georgia and Virginia close the polls at 7:00 PM ET, but we’re more likely to see projections from Virginia, as Georgia is one of the swing states and will likely be a later call.

North Carolina (another swing state) and Ohio close their polls at 7:30 p.m. ET. By 8:00 PM ET, expected wins are likely to be called in several East Coast states.

Several western states will close their polls at 9:00 PM ET and 10:00 PM ET, with California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and Hawaii all reporting their first results at 23:00 or later.

When will votes be known from the swing states?

It is a more complex question. The Harris campaign says it expects results from three swing states — Georgia, Michigan and North Carolina — on election night, and Georgia has said it expects results by midnight tonight. Wisconsin’s results were due Wednesday morning.

Arizona and Nevada will likely take a day or two longer. And Pennsylvania, which is perhaps the most important state, may also take a while.

How long will it take Associated Press and networks to call a state’s results in the 2024 presidential election?

There is no set time for how long the AP takes to call a candidate a win. However, based on the results for 2020, we can make some estimates.

Four years ago, the AP did a projection within an hour for 31 states. A further 15 were called within a day. Swing states took five days or longer, but votes are expected to be counted a little faster this year.
