Tuesday is Election Day, which means you’ll need to go to the right polling place to make sure your vote counts.

Early voting in Tennessee allows registered voters to cast a ballot at any designated early voting location in their county. But early voting ended last week, and come Tuesday you’ll want to know where to vote.

On election day, votes must be cast in your designated area. You can look at a map on the Shelby County Election Commission website and find your area or look up your polling station at Tennessee Secretary of State’s GoVoteTN website.

What do I need to bring to vote in Tennessee?

If you vote on election day, you must bring valid ID.

Any of the following IDs can be used, even if it has expired:

  • A Tennessee State issued driver’s license with your photo
  • US passport
  • Photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security
  • Photo ID issued by the federal or Tennessee state government
  • US military photo ID
  • Tennessee handgun carry permit with your photo

If you forget your ID, you can still request a provisional ballot, which gives you two days after Election Day to bring an ID to the Election Commission office, where you can sign a statement and have a copy of your photo ID reviewed by the counting board. according to Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett’s website.
