Kevin O’Connell gives updates on DePaola & Reichard injuries; Darrisaw undergoes surgery

Reichard cleared the opening kickoff and then attempted a 53-yard field goal that was just short in the second quarter. He also missed from 31 later in the period.

However, Reichard went 3-for-3 on extra points and continued to handle kickoff duties.

“I’ll keep you posted as we sort of establish a timeline there on that,” O’Connell said, “and if we have to possibly bring in some kickers to potentially look at.”

Reichard is now 14-for-16 on field goals and 23-for-23 on extra points this season.

“It’s something where you’d love to have him continue on the great trajectory he’s been on, really, since he got here,” said O’Connell, who has clearly appreciated the consistency of the rookie. “These things come in a way and we’re going to go through the process here to make sure we put the best plan together so we have him full and doing what he’s been doing all season up until last night.

“With how he’s performed up to this point, I would imagine (the injury) was a factor in him missing a couple of kicks, but he toughed it out and still put the ball in the end zone on some kickoffs and made some extra plays. points,” O’Connell said. “Such a tough, tough guy, and loves to be out there with his teammates. And as you know and can tell, his teammates absolutely love him.”
