2 young children safe, father arrested in Portland after abduction in Olympia

Two children, ages 1 and 4, have been found safe and their father has been arrested in Portland following an abduction in Olympia on Saturday.

The 24-year-old father missed his mandatory 30-minute check-in phone call while on a supervised visit to the Capital Mall, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP). WSP then issued an Amber Alert, which has now been cancelled.

The man was driving a stolen white 2007 Ford Crown Victoria sedan that belonged to a minister he had worked with Friday night in Shelton, according to OPD.

According to state records, the man had already been arrested twice in 2024 for stealing two cars — both felonies.
