Dallas Weather: Flash Flood Warnings expire in Dallas, Tarrant counties

Storms moved through the DFW area Thursday, bringing heavy rain and some small hail.

Flash flood warnings were issued for several North Texas counties Thursday morning and afternoon, but have since expired.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for much of east, central and southeast Texas.

After Thursday’s storms, North Texas should remain dry.

Highs will climb into the 70s Sunday and Monday before temperatures drop Tuesday.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has activated some of the state’s emergency resources due to potential severe weather across the state.

While storms are almost out of North Texas, East and Southeast Texas could experience severe storms.

Flash flood warnings are in effect for much of the heart of the Metroplex.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for our far southeastern counties of Anderson, Freestone, and Limestone until 8 p.m.

DFW’s is expected to end at 11 a.m., while Love Field expects to be under a ground stop until 11.30 am

Bosque and Hill County are under a flash flood warning until 11 a.m. Thursday.

Dallas-Forth Worth Weather Forecast

The rain will begin in North Texas around 9 and continues until around 15. Most thunderstorms are expected to peak between 11.00 and noon.

Residents should park vehicles in covered areas during this time to avoid hail damage. The risk of hail is expected to subside around 1 p.m

While quarter-sized hail and strong winds are the biggest threats, moist air from the Gulf creates a slight tornado risk in areas south of DFW, near Palestine and Corsicana.

Heavy fog is also affecting parts of the Metroplex this morning.

Conditions will improve during the evening, with temperatures rising into the low 70s on Friday.
