Travis Kelce scores historic touchdown in Week 17

Head coach Andy Reid kept his foot on the gas pedal in the fourth quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 17 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.

Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton recovered a fumble from Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth early in the game’s final frame, and Patrick Mahomes was sure to take advantage of optimal field position to extend Kansas City’s lead.

On another play from Pittsburgh’s 12-yard line, Mahomes rolled out and threw a touchdown pass to tight end Travis Kelce, who easily hauled in the ball while standing all alone in the Steelers’ end zone.

With that score, Kelce took sole ownership of the top spot in the Kansas City franchise record books for most receiving touchdowns in Chiefs history.

Take a look at this video of Kelce’s historic touchdown reception, which was posted on Twitter by the Chiefs’ official account:

Stay tuned to see if Mahomes will continue to look Kelce’s way as Kansas City looks to run the clock to secure a win over Pittsburgh and the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs.
