Last-minute Christmas shopping is becoming a holiday tradition for some in the Ozarks

BRANSON, Mo. (KY3) – This Christmas Eve, the shops were full of last-minute customers.

Many felt the pressure and excitement of the Christmas rush, from finding the perfect gift to checking off forgotten items. For a family with members from Kansas and Louisiana, their holiday shopping spree in Branson was more than a dash of presents. It was a heartfelt Christmas get-together.

“It’s something we all enjoy doing. We all enjoy window shopping, having a few laughs and just being able to hang out and see what Branson has to offer,” said shopper Ann Marie Pallan.

It’s been years since both sides of the family celebrated Christmas together, and they’re enjoying every second of this special moment just before tomorrow’s gift-giving.

Theresa Angers says, “We shop for a little of everyone.”

For the family, the holidays are not about busyness or presents. It’s about being together.

“Christmas, you know, it’s about family, not people or presents or anything like that,” said Isabella Rosenthal. When Ky3 asked the family for their favorite gift this year, they didn’t hesitate. “The most significant gift, I think, this year is the gift of love and togetherness,” Angers said.

Your last minute shopping spree is about more than just this year; it sets the stage for future plans.

“The strong connections and ties to each other tell us what to buy for each other when we shop, even if it’s at the last minute,” said Christian Rosenthal.
