“How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” one of Dr. Seuss’s most beloved tales are sure to bring great cheer to families, friends and Grinch enthusiasts who actually find a way to tune in this Christmas.

The animated film, based on the 1957 children’s book, follows the story of the Grinch, a green and mischievous creature who can’t help but taunt as Christmas approaches. Unfortunately, he happens to live on an isolated mountain just outside of Whoville, the most festive, Christmas-loving town of all.

The Grinch, an epic Christmas hater, vows to ruin the epic celebration by stealing the Whos’ festive supplies, including their Christmas dinner, decorations and presents for his own amusement.

After he is briefly intercepted by the adorable Cindy Lou Who and witnesses the Whos still choose to celebrate each other on Christmas morning, even without their world goods, the Grinch becomes overwhelmed by the Christmas spirit and his “two sizes too small” heart is growing. three sizes when he joins the Whos for a party.

There are several adaptations of this film, including the 2000 live-action film starring Jim Carrey, but the 1966 made-for-TV movie is where it all began. This year you will be able to see the animated version on TV and on selected streaming platforms.

The original and animated “Grinch” movie airs Wednesday, December 25 at 8 PM ET/PT on NBC. Those who want to watch it the old-fashioned way will have to go to the NBC channel with their remote or online at NBC.com.
