Picture this: The stockings are hung, the tree is aglow with twinkling lights, and the heady scent of holiday festivities fills the air. But just as you’re ready to raise a glass and toast to the season, you realize – you have nothing to toast with and the liquor stores are closed.

Don’t let this happen to you! A little preparation can save the day.

Make sure your celebrations stay merry and bright by stocking up on your favorite beverages before the holidays arrive. After all, planning keeps the holiday spirit flowing as smoothly as your favorite festive drink.

How early can you buy beer and wine in Texas?

Retail stores that do not sell liquor, such as grocery stores and convenience stores, have different beer and wine sales hours depending on the day. Here is the breakdown:

  • Monday to Friday: 7.00 am to midnight
  • Saturday: 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. (Sunday)
  • Sunday: 10 am to midnight

Bars and restaurants follow a similar schedule, but on Sundays they can only serve alcohol from 10.00 for dinner if they are paired with food. If there is no food in the order, alcohol-only sales will begin at noon.
