Home Alone 2 dove lady looks almost unrecognizable 32 years after the Christmas movie’s release – and it’s NOT Piers Morgan!

Home Alone 2: Lost In New York star Brenda Fricker looks almost unrecognizable 32 years after the film’s release.

The 1992 Christmas film sees the Irish actress, 79, star as a homeless woman who comes to the rescue of Macaulay Culkin’s character Kevin after he is cornered in Central Park by the wet thugs.

Brenda was 47 when the film was made and won legions of fans thanks to her warm-hearted friendship with Kevin – who was once again abandoned by his parents and left to fend for himself in the Big Apple.

Her iconic character has drawn comparisons to Piers Morgan over the years, with fans convinced the broadcaster played the bird lover in the film.

Brenda previously appeared on The Tommy Tiernan Show, fronted by Irish comedian Tommy Tiernan, where she opened up about her career and life away from the limelight.

Apart from Home Alone 2, Brenda has had an illustrious acting career and even won a Best Supporting Actress award for her role in 1989’s My Left Foot.

Her other credits include Cars, Quatermass, Angels and Seekers, in addition to UK shows Casualty and Coronation Street and a number of stage productions.

Speaking about her life, she said: ‘I live a very quiet life well under the radar and I drive a small car, own a cottage, that’s it. Talks a lot to the wall, talks to the dog, writes poetry, reads books, watches television.

‘Nothing different than anyone else does, except being alone so much can make you talk to the wall a bit more than most people,’ reports The mirror.

During the interview, Brenda opened up about her break from acting and her struggle with her mental health.

She continued: ‘Just yesterday I saw the doctor who said: “We’re putting you on stronger anti-depressants”. I’m a bit of a recluse. Choosing to stay indoors is one thing, but being told to do so makes me want to go outside.

The thespian went on to describe her time spent at St Patrick’s Hospital in Dublin, where she credited a doctor with ‘saving her life’.

Brenda shared: ‘It was tough but there was an amazing doctor, Anthony Clare. He saved my life. He was exceptional with me. He really pulled me out of the deep end. Just an incredible mind. He understood me and reached me. I always left happy after seeing him. He made me feel comfortable.’

This is not the first time Brenda has given fans an insight into the difficulties she faces in life.

Back in 2012, Brenda admitted a darker side to her long-running career and shocked fans by admitting she was completely broke.

The actress talked about how lonely and depressed she was and how she had attempted suicide a staggering 32 times.

In an interview with Anna Friel, broadcast on Sky Arts, the acclaimed actress is candid about her financial problems: ‘I lived off my savings while they lasted, but now I’m broke. But as long as I have a roof over my head and feed the dog and feed myself, I am completely satisfied’.

Brenda was clearly completely comfortable with Anna, who she starred alongside in the 2003 film Watermelon, and Brenda opened up about her difficult life.

Revealing her ongoing battle with depression, she continued: ‘I suffered from depression for 50 years. But now I go to a therapist once a week, just to have a conversation and hear another human voice’.

Earlier that year, she said that she had attempted suicide 32 times. “You get so damn tired of nobody listening to you,” she said

It comes as Piers Morgan was once again forced to deny playing Brenda’s role as the Pigeon Lady in Home Alone 2.

Over the years, the 58-year-old TV host has found himself responding to social media users who are convinced he had a role in the beloved Christmas movie.

And this year was no different when Piers spotted an X post from someone who enjoyed the beloved festive film.

Sharing a photo of the Pigeon Lady, played by Irish actress Brenda Fricker, the user wrote: ‘Not sure how many acting credits he has but this is @piersmorgan’s finest work’.

Piers responded to the post by writing: ‘It is. Not. Me.’

Several users jokingly responded to his post, writing: ‘How did I not know? You were amazing in Home Alone 2.’

‘Yes, they all say that’… ‘You don’t have to hide it, it’s your best work.’

‘Just say “thanks for supporting my work” and move on’… ‘Just take credit and say it’s you, easier.’

“It’s that time of year again, Piers. Hope you get a big back check this year.’

Piers spoke about the comparisons on Good Morning Britain back in 2020.

His former co-host Susanna Reid, 53, said to much laughter: ‘Can we just watch Home Alone 2 because honestly it’s the best picture.
