Following a stormy Christmas Eve in Houston, what will it mean for the big day?

HOUSTON – We are tracking another warm day on Christmas Eve ahead of the cold front, which is expected to bring rain and the possibility of thunderstorms during the night hours.

Most of the day will be warm, foggy and windy with a chance of light showers. Some of these storms could be strong or severe, bringing a chance for small hail and gusty winds Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Christmas Eve: Tracks a chance of rain and thunderstorms Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

While the front doesn’t look too threatening, it looks set to arrive in time for ole Kris Kringle to fly over most of Houston.

The current timing has us storming through the hours of the night. This shouldn’t be a problem at all with Rudolph on Santa’s team – they’ve been through a lot worse.

Obviously this line has a chance to bring in some noisy thunderstorms overnight with some strong gusts, lightning and heavy rain for less than an hour or so.

the line will move quickly enough to keep flooding problems at bay, most rainfall amounts will be between half an inch to an inch. Some brooding on the roads, but nothing major.

If you’re headed to the Texans game on Wednesday – we have a slight chance for lingering showers, but the forecast should turn partly cloudy around noon with temperatures in the 70s.
