Paul McCartney reveals New Year’s resolutions for 2025

Sir Paul McCartney has big plans for 2025.

On Saturday, December 21, the Beatles musician, 82, answered a series of questions from fans on his websiteincluding what his New Year’s resolution is – to “finish an album.”

“I’ve been working on a lot of songs and have had to put it aside because of the tour,” McCartney wrote. “So I hope to get back to it and finish a lot of these songs.”

He added: “So how about it? My New Year’s resolution is to finish a new album!”

McCartney also revealed his holiday plans after his Come back tour dates involved a “well-deserved rest.”

“It’s Christmas so it’s family time for me,” he wrote. “We’ve actually already decorated. And I’m one of those guys who loves to overdo the decorations, so I need a minute to sit back, relax and enjoy them.”

McCartney released his last solo album, McCartney IIIin 2020 and represents the third part of a musical trilogy that began with his 1970 solo album McCartney and was later followed by McCartney II iin 1980.

In December 2020, the “Maybe I’m Amazed” performer revealed The Howard Stern Show that Taylor Swift decided to move the release date of her album Evermore so it wouldn’t conflict with McCartney’s own LP.

“I did Rolling Stone cover with Taylor Swift, and she just emailed me recently and she said, ‘I didn’t tell anybody, but I have another album,'” he recalled. “And she said, “So I wanted to say that. out of my birthday.’ And then she said, ‘But I found out you were going to release (your album) on the 10th. So I moved it to the 18th.’ “

McCartney added: “And then she found out we were coming out on the 18th, so she moved back to the 10th. So I mean, you know, people stay out of each other’s way. It’s a nice thing to do .”

At that point, Swift, 35, ended up falling Evermore on December 11 after surprising fans with the announcement of a new album the day before. Evermore is “sister album” to Folklorewhich she released in July 2020.

McCartney followed up McCartney III in 2021 with a remix album of songs featuring artists such as Beck, Dominic Fike, Phoebe Bridgers and more.
