Magic vs Celtics: Injury Report, Depth Chart and More as Mo Wagner’s Season Ends with ACL Tear

4-6! Despite the memorable winning records generated in the previous and the current season, the Orlando Magic squad has not been able to beat the Boston Celtics from time to time. Also, the team is just starting to recover from a streak that saw them lose 5 of their last 7 games. Therefore, when they take on the defending champions at their home court, the Kia Center, the Magic roster will be looking to give their best. Unfortunately, that will be difficult to do in light of so many players dealing with their own injury issues.

According to the Orlando Magic Damage reportnot 1 but 6 players are listed! On top of that, 4 have been reported ‘OUT’ for the upcoming game! During the Magic’s previous game against the Miami Heat, Moritz ‘moe’ Wagner suffered a left knee injury. He returned to the locker room after playing just 2 minutes. The limited time did not allow him to score anything in terms of points, rebounds and assists. After undergoing further tests to determine the details and severity of the injury, doctors diagnosed the player with an ACL strain. The seriousness of it has now caused the team to rule him out for the rest of the season. This is unfortunate news for the franchise. After all, Wagner’s 12.9 ppg. match score made him the 3rd highest average score from his team.

To make matters worse, the situation is not looking good for even the Top 2 highest average scorers from the team. Doctors diagnosed Franz Wagner with a torn right oblique two weeks ago during a Philadelphia 76ers game. Since then, the player has been absent from the main line-up. He will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Jalen Suggs suffered an ankle injury in the final 1:36 minutes of the 2nd quarter of the game against OKC. Doctors did not consider his injury serious enough to keep him on the sidelines for the entire game, and he soon returned to the field. Unfortunately his condition worsened and they declared him ‘OUT’ for the Magic-Heat game. Now they list him as ‘Questionable’ for the upcoming Celtics game.

Gary Harris has not played a single game in December thanks to his hamstring injury. But his ‘Questionable’ status indicates signs of improvement. The 25-year-old Mac McClung is playing under a two-way contract ‘OUT’ for the G-League games due to a right leg injury. Furthermore, Paolo Banchero, who has not played a game since the end of October, continues to recover from his torn right oblique. But if reports are to be believed, the player is looking to make a comeback before Christmas.

When you look at Damage report for the Boston Celtics, the defending champions are in a better position, injury-wise. After all, they only have 1 player on the roster! Sam Hauser, the secondary small forward and power forward, suffered some spasms in his lower back a few days ago. He has already missed his team’s last 2 games. Now you hold one ‘Questionable’ status, there is a good chance that he will also miss a 3 consecutive games.

In light of these updates, both teams will need to adjust their starting lineups.

What will the starting lineup and depth chart look like for the Magic-Celtics game?

To cover for Moritz Wagner, players like Goga Bitadze and Wendell Carter Jr. see an increase in their responsibilities. In fact, Bitadze can assume the starting role at center front. If neither player is available, Jonathan Isaac can cover for them. If Jalen Suggs is not available, then Anthony Black could probably start at the point guard position against the Celtics.
