NEW YORK — It’s cold, cold, cold!

It’s so cold that Sunday and Monday is First alarm weather days due to very low temperatures and dangerous wind chills, especially at night.

Don’t let the sunny skies fool you. Sunday’s highs struggled to get out of the low 20s, but felt more like teenagers at best.

It will be even colder Sunday night, with lows in the single digits and teens.

Some light snow/rain showers will break through early Tuesday morning (Christmas Eve), our next chance for precipitation after last week’s snowstorm. It won’t cause any problems, but will be just enough for some festive snowflakes.

In the afternoon it will be dry with some sunny breaks. Highs will be in the mid-30s.

The weather looks calm Wednesday for Christmas and the first night of Hanukkah. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures closer to normal, topping out around 40 degrees.
