Piers Morgan forced to address rumors he starred in Home Alone as ‘the pigeon lady’ – TV and Film

Without fail, we all curl up on our couches every year to revisit all our classic favorites from the Christmas movie canon.

After getting through rom-com tearjerkers like Love actually and The holiday along with oldies, but goldies like It’s a wonderful life and iconic family films such as The Grinch – for many of us, our absolute favorite is none other than Alone at home.

The family comedy has stood the test of time after first hitting our screens and warming our hearts back in 1990, starring a fresh Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard and Catherine O’Hara.

The first film’s plot centers on eight-year-old Kevin McCallister (Culkin), who is accidentally left behind when his family travels to France. At first he is happy to be in charge; but when thieves try to break into his home, he fights like no other.

After the success of the first film, Home Alone 2: Lost in New Yorkk was released just two years later in 1992.

Fans of the franchise were introduced to a whole new setting along with some new characters, including Donald Trump, who Culkin’s character ran into on the streets of the Big Apple.

In the film, Kevin also befriends someone who came to be known as the ‘pigeon lady’ – played by Brenda Fricker – due to her closeness to her feathered friends.

Over the years, hawk-eyed fans of the sequel have also pointed out her uncanny resemblance to none other than Piers Morgan.

Every year, without fail, someone says that the pigeon lady ‘is Piers Morgan with a wig on’, while someone takes to Twitter and writes: “@piersmorgan I just have to applaud you for your amazing acting work in Home Alone 2.”

Another laughed: “Annual reminder that Piers Morgan got his start as a pigeon lady in Home Alone 2.”

The allegations have been so relentless that the 59-year-old broadcaster was once forced to deny the rumors and put an end to speculation that he was making a cameo appearance once and for all.

Back in 2020, when Morgan was still presenting Good morning Great Britainhis co-host Susanna Reid claimed she could prove it.

Reid said, “Can we just watch Home Alone 2 because it’s honestly the best picture.

“Because a lot of people are watching Home Alone 2 and wondering if it’s you.”

Morgan then lashed out: “Why does it keep coming up? It’s not me. I’m not the bag lady in Home Alone 2.”

Reid then showed ‘proof’ with a snap of Morgan covered in pigeons during a 2013 when even his own son brought it to light.
