Elon Musk’s X Raises Premium+ Prices by 37.5%

X is raising prices for its premium subscription service, Premium+, by 37.5% to $22 a month, marking the biggest price increase since Elon Musk bought the platform in 2022.

The price increase will affect US users first up from $16with effect from December 21 according to a declaration. Annual subscriptions have also increased to $229 from $168.

X said it “adjusted” prices to support the experience it offers. Existing subscribers will be transferred to current rates until 20 January.

International markets face similar increases, with prices for people in the EU rising to €21 from €16 a month. Canada will see Premium+ prices increase to $29 from $20.

Some markets are more affected than most. X Premium+, which completely removes ads and adds other features, will cost users in Nigeria ₦34,000 per month, up from ₦7,300. Users in Turkey will similarly pay 770 ₺ for the service, up from 300 ₺ currently.

The platform’s basic subscription level will still cost $3 per month.
