Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott injury update, set for April return

The Dallas Cowboys were officially eliminated from playoff contention Sunday afternoon, but that didn’t stop them from playing hard early Tampa Bay Buccaneers a few hours later.

With the Cowboys leading by 10, the NBC broadcast took a moment to talk about one of those who didn’t play, quarterback Dak Prescott. Dak was shown as Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth discussed how much time he’s missed, then cut to sideline reporter Melissa Stark, who shared what she had talked to Prescott about before the game.

Stark noted that Prescott said he recently got off his crutches and will start running in about a month. It was specifically noted that Prescott is on track to be ready for offseason workouts in April.

Prescott was injured in early November, so we’re approaching the two-month mark from that moment. His season was deemed over due to the specific surgery he had on his hamstring, so it’s clear that some recovery time is needed.

It’s certainly great to see that Prescott will be ready for offseason workouts as the Cowboys will have a lot of work to do to get back to the playoffs and hopefully beyond. However, there are still many questions about who the head coach will be doing business around that time of year.
