Eagles QB ends game vs Commanders

game

LANDOVER, Md. – Jalen Hurts was ordered to leave the game to be evaluated for a concussion in the first quarter.

Kenny Pickett took over and capped the touchdown drive with a 3-yard pass to AJ Brown, giving the Eagles a 14-0 lead with 7:08 left in the first quarter.

Hurts was hurt on a 13-yard run up the middle when he was hit in the head as he dove to Commanders‘ 21. The referee ordered Hurts to leave the match, but he refused and went back to the huddle. He was ordered again to get off and he did.

Hurts went into the medical tent and then came out when the Eagles reached the Washington 3 yard line. Instead of going back to the game, he went back to the tent and then the locker room.

Hurts also left the game to be evaluated for a concussion late in the first half of the first meeting against Washington on Nov. 14. Hurts didn’t miss a play in that game. Hurts has also been dealing with a broken left finger.
