Here’s the picture that all Newcastle United fans are absolutely loving this Wednesday night…

The picture Newcastle United fans all really wanted to see today.

United dominate and only a stop-start opening half prevents proper momentum building.

Despite that, United went 2-0 up and Murphy almost made it 3-0 just before the break, only the post to save Brentford.

However, Tonali had already done the damage with two quality finishes.

Just like on Saturday, Newcastle could and should have scored twice as many goals as they ended up doing, the woodwork saving Brentford once more in the second half, but Bruno set up Schar for a tap-in to end it as a contest.

An extra time consolation for the visitors was more than they deserved on the night.

Another winning photo after the game.

Another photo = Ninth this season.

The Newcastle United manager introduced this tradition with a post-match where everyone included a photo after each win, as he believed it had worked as a bonding exercise when he was at Bournemouth.

(It’s actually the 10th win of the season for United, but for whatever reason there’s no winning picture after the win over AFC Wimbledon. Can only guess winning 1-0 at home to League Two opposition might have looked a bit “little”) .

So only having to wait four days since the win against Leicester, we now have another winning image above.

It’s also a huge bonus how much it wins over fans of certain other clubs and journalists.

“Look at them, think they’ve won the Premier League / Champions League… etc etc.”

Twenty two Premier League games to go, and fingers crossed for more cup games, so hopefully there will be many more of these pictures.
