Tesla recalls nearly 700,000 vehicles due to tire pressure issues | Money news

Tesla has recalled nearly 700,000 of its electric vehicles due to a problem with the warning light on the tire pressure monitoring system.

Its warning light may not stay on between driving cycles, failing to warn the driver of low tire pressure and increasing the risk of a crash, the manufacturer said.

The issue affects some Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck vehicles, Tesla added.

It will be fixed through a free software update.

Letters notifying owners of the affected cars are expected to be sent on February 15 next year.

Tesla has issued several recalls throughout the year.

The car manufacturer, founded and run by Elon Muskrecalled 1.8 million vehicles in July because of a hood problem that could increase the risk of a crash.

In February, it recalled nearly 2.2 million vehicles in the U.S. because some dashboard warning lights were too small.

Its Cybertruck has now been recalled seven times, with a recall last month involving about 2,400 vehicles.
