NFL reveals schedule change for Patriots-Chargers Week 17 game

While Patriots fans may struggle to watch their hometown team every week, it seems the NFL wants more eyes on Drake Maye and company.

The NFL announced Tuesday the Patriots will host Los Angeles Chargers at Gillette Stadium on December 28. The Week 17 clash, originally scheduled for December 29, is one of three games being moved from Sunday to Saturday.

The 3-11 Patriots will host the 8-6 Chargers with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 PM ET.

Other games moved to Dec. 28 include Denver Broncos-Cincinnati Bengals (4 p.m. ET) and Arizona Cardinals-Los Angeles Rams (8 p.m. ET).

The ability to showcase a head-to-head matchup between Justin Herbert and Maye, two of the best young signal-callers in the league, proved too tempting to pass up despite New England’s uninspiring product outside of quarterback. As for LA, the Bolts currently have the No. 7 seed in the AFC playoff picture.
