Elsa Pataky has revealed how her husband Chris Hemsworth persuaded her to move to Australia.

The Spanish actress, 48, lives in Byron Bay with her husband Chris, 41, and their three children – daughter India, 12, and twins Sasha and Tristan, 10.

But Elsa, originally from Madrid, admitted she had a very specific condition before she agreed to uproot her life and move Down Under nearly ten years ago.

Speaking to Courier mailElsa revealed how she told Chris she would only move to Australia if they lived on a sprawling farm where she could have horses.

“That was my deal with Chris,” she shared. ‘I said I wanted to move to Australia but I wanted to live on a property, a farm and have horses and he knew that.’

Luckily for Elsa, her dream came true and they now live in a sprawling 8-bedroom $30 million mansion set on a massive 4.2 hectares of land in Broken Head.

Elsa also gave a candid insight into her relationship with Hollywood icon Chris and shared their secret to a happy marriage despite the many challenges they have faced.

“I think we all have this idea of ​​this beautiful dream of a marriage and loving each other and it’s all perfect, but it’s a lot more work than you think,” she said.

‘It comes with so many challenges, but it’s beautiful to grow into those challenges and learn about each other and how we change over the years and how we adapt to each other.

“You might think from the outside that a marriage is perfect, but they all have their things and they all need a lot of work.”

Elsa and Chris joined just ten months after they first met and will celebrate 14 years of marriage on December 22, although she admitted they rarely remember their anniversary.

While it might seem like a relationship faux pas, Elsa insisted the date is easily forgotten because it’s so close to Christmas, and said they laugh about it every year.

Gushing over her husband, Elsa also admitted she has always wanted a ‘partner for life’ as she shared how she wants to grow old with Thor actor Chris.

Elsa and Chris were married in a stirring ceremony while on holiday in Australia in December 2010, just three months after they first went public with their relationship.

They moved to Byron Bay five years later after buying their forever home in the coastal paradise for $7.6 million.

Now they have been presented with a unique opportunity to expand their massive property on Byron Bay’s so-called ‘Golden Grid’.

In October, the adjacent nine-hectare property to their luxury Balinese style was listed for an undisclosed price.

Real estate insiders have estimated that the luxury retreat could fetch as much as $34 million.

Although it could be a lucrative purchase Daily Telegraph claimed that the Hemsworths have made no attempt to declare their interests on the palatial spread.

The site last went under the hammer in 2011 for $6.3 million and is currently owned by oil and gas multimillionaire Russell Staley and his wife, Jennifer.

The property, known as Ohana, is located at Broken Head in Byron Bay’s hinterland, between the Hemsworths’ home and Seven Mile Beach.
