Anthony Davis didn’t make things easy for the Sacramento Kings at the basket Thursday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers big man knocked down six shots to go along with a 21-point, 20-rebound double-double — and four assists and three steals, for good measure — in his team’s 113-100 win in Sacramento.

Anthony Davis just passed Serge Ibaka for 30th in NBA history in all-time blocks with 1,760 with his 5th blocked shot of the night here early in the 3rd Q.
He needs 11 more to catch Elvin Hayes and 60 to catch Jermaine O’Neal.

Davis didn’t have his most efficient shooting night (7-of-20 from the field), but his presence in the paint was crucial as both his blocks and rebounds were season highs.

LeBron James added 19 points, seven assists and six rebounds, while Austin Reaves had 25 points for the Lakers. Domantas Sabonis nearly had a triple-double (18 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists) in the losing effort, while De’Aaron Fox added 26 points and five assists.

Oh, and James set another all-time record Thursday night, which at this point feels like an almost daily occurrence for the NBA legend:

But this game was arguably won on the block, and Davis went to work down low, receiving his flowers from fans and pundits after the contest:

The Lakers suffered an injury scare earlier in the contest when Davis checked out of the game late in the first quarter with a shoulder injury, though he was able to return. Without him, it’s hard to imagine the Lakers escaping Sacramento with a win – on a night where the Lakers shot a terrible XX.X percent from three, his defense and rebounding helped secure the win.

The win moved the Lakers to 15-12 on the season and represented their first pair of back-to-back wins since November’s six-game winning streak. The loss, meanwhile, dropped the Kings to 13-15, ending their own three-game winning streak.
