Watch Ben Stiller Wistfully Lip-Synch to SZA’s ‘Drive’

SZA is back.

The R&B superstar released the music video for lead single “Drive,” starring Ben Stiller. The visual arrives ahead of the release of Lana, the deluxe edition of her huge album SOS. The signer took to social media to share that the project must now drop on the morning of December 20.

Directed by Bradley J. Calder, the video sees Stiller wistfully lip-syncing to the slow track while driving through the rain. At one point he hangs out the window and then steps out of the car in the middle of the lonely, open road. As Stiller drives out of focus, the camera pans to the woods, where a bug-eyed SZA frolics in the grass as the lyrics to “Crybaby” appear in the background. The moment resonates Lana’s album cover which she recently shared on social media and her appearance on Hot Ones while they are disguised as a bug.

SZA previously teased Stiller’s appearance in the video earlier this week, sharing several clips of the video on her Instagram. Along with confirming her own album, she also set the release date for season two of Stiller’s resignation, of which she is a known fan.

Lana has been running ever since SOS first dropped in December 2022. The original album was one of the biggest records of the year.

“It was supposed to be (‘SOS’) outtakes and some new songs, but it’s become more than I expected,” SZA told Black last year of the new deluxe edition. “It would be really soft because I’d made all my screaming points and I’d just slide and not think (too much) and get out of my own head – I was so happy to say some crap that didn’t mean a shitty things.”

SZA will tour the new music throughout 2025 when she hits the road with her former TDE labelmate Kendrick Lamar for the Grand National tour, which kicks off next April. SZA also featured on the excellent track “Luther” from Lamar’s surprise album GNX.
