Illinois American Water Awards $1,000 in art competition celebrating water’s impact on communities





Illinois American Water announced the winners of its ‘Water Keeps Life Flowing’ art contest, which engaged 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students in creating artwork about the importance of water service. Ten winning classrooms will receive one $100 donation for supplies or celebrations. The winning artwork, which ranges from water tower paintings to hygiene practice drawings, will be featured on the company’s Facebook page and future customer communications.

Primary school students inspire environmental awareness through creativity

BELLEVILLE, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Illinois American Water recently invited 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students to show their creativity by submitting artwork to the company’s “Water Keeps Life Flowing” art contest. Hundreds of submissions capturing the importance of high quality water service were received. Illinois American Water selected 10 winners who deserved their classrooms a $100 donation for school supplies or a classroom party.

“From paintings of water towers to drawings of personal hygiene practices, we are completely inspired by the creative ways students used their love of art and understanding of science to showcase the importance of clean, safe and reliable water service,” said Rebecca Losli , president. of Illinois American Water.

The winning artwork will be featured on the company’s Facebook page: @ilamwater. It will also appear on future Illinois American Water customer communications.

Losli added, “Illinois American Water plays a critical role in customers’ daily lives by providing water services that support vital activities and jobs. We encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the role water plays in your own life, including careers, hobbies and other activities.”
