It was a foggy Monday evening in mid-December in Louisiana. There is one fog alert in place for Lake Charles, Jennings and Dequincy. In Lafayette, it’s twinkling with Christmas lights dampened by the high holiday humidity. And in Baton Rougethey are a little confused about Louisiana Lottery offices. They have a winner of a $50,000 lottery prize that they can’t seem to find, and a brand new $50,000 winner that they need to get to know.

Based on information from our sources at Powerball, no tickets were sold across the game’s footprint that matched the numbers needed to claim the game’s more than $58 million top prize. There was one ticket sold in Colorado that matched all five of the white ball numbers, saw it Winner of match 5 million would get a million dollars for their two dollar investment.

Now for the big money winner and what could be a big money loser in Louisiana. The The Louisiana Lottery has confirmed that a ticket sold in Chalmette matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball in Monday’s game. Usually that ticket is worth $50,000. If you played Powerball in Chalmette and bought your Powerball ticket at Mereaux’s Food Store on Paris Road, I would pull out my ticket and compare those numbers.

That takes care of the new $50,000 winner from last night. The Louisiana Lottery is still hoping to hear from one Powerball player who purchased a ticket at a Racetrac store on Burbank Drive in Baton Rouge back on July 13th. That ticket also matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball. The $50,000 prize will revert to the lottery if not claimed by January 9, 2025.
