Playboi Carti previews I AM MUSIC album at Rolling Loud Miami with new tracks and fan-favorite hits

Playboi Carti electrified the stage at Rolling Loud Miami’s 10th anniversary festival and gave fans an exclusive preview of his highly anticipated album, I AM MUSIC. Closing out the event on December 15, Carti thrilled the crowd with his bold new sound, showcasing his evolving artistry and proving why he remains a trailblazer in modern hip-hop.

“I am music is here,” Cartis’ DJ announced as the rapper debuted several unreleased tracks, including “Drugs Got Me Numb,” produced by Metro Boomin, and another track by F1LTHY. The excitement spilled over to online platforms, where fans watching via Twitch and Amazon Music erupted in praise. DJ Akademiks summed up the moment at X, tweeting: “We’re witnessing history… Playboi Carti headlining an entire festival and SINGING new play, not relying on hits. This n**a Goated.”

While the new tracks showcased Carti’s evolution, his performance also included fan favorites like “Type Sh*t” featuring Future and Metro Boomin and “Rockstar Made” by Whole Lotta Red. He also performed “Timeless,” his collaboration with The Weeknd and Madonna, as well as “KETAMINE,” a track slated for I AM MUSIC. For added spectacle, Carti performed part of his set upside down, captivating the audience with his theatricality.

I AM MUSIC, Carti’s first album in four years, has been eagerly awaited since its announcement in January. Produced by Ye and described as a featureless project, the album signals a major creative milestone for the rapper. Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif noted Carti’s longtime association with the festival, highlighting his achievements at nearly every iteration since its inception.

Fans left the festival buzzing with anticipation as I AM MUSIC promises to redefine Playboi Carti’s legacy and further cement his status as a genre-defying artist.
