Mavericks, Warriors set single-game NBA record with 48 combined 3-pointers

The Mavericks hit 21 3-pointers Sunday, and the Warriors add 27 of their own, with the combined 48 setting a new league record for marks.

The Mavericks and Warriors played in The Bay on Sunday night and — in fitting form for a Klay Thompson return — engaged in a wild shooting game that featured a record-setting 3-point range.

The Mavericks, who won the game 143-133, connected on 21 of their 41 long-range attempts (51.2%); The Warriors shot 27-for-54 from deep (50.0%). The total of 48 sets a new NBA single-game record, eclipsing the previous mark of 45.

The former Splash Brothers, Thompson and Warriors counterpart Stephen Curry each connected on seven triples. Luka Dončić made six, while Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins each had five.

At least 13 players connected on a 3-pointer, with 10 making more. The teams also combined for an NBA record 30 3s in a half, a product of the Warriors tying the NBA record in a half (18) while the Mavs made 12.
