Google India: Google appoints Preeti Lobana as new India Country Manager

Google has appointed Preeti Lobana as the new country manager and vice president of India operations. Lobana, vice president of customer-centric solutions until recently, joined Google nine years ago.

“Preeti’s leadership will be instrumental as we deepen our engagement with India’s unique ecosystem, leveraging AI advances like Gemini 2.0 to accelerate digital inclusion and unlock unprecedented economic opportunity for every Indian. I am confident that her deep market expertise will guide us in shaping a future where technology truly benefits everyone,” said Sanjay Gupta, president of Asia Pacific at Google, while announcing Lobana’s appointment as the new country manager.

Lobana succeeds Gupta, who was elevated to president of Asia Pacific operations at Google earlier this year. Google had appointed Roma Datta Chobey, managing director of the digital native industries division of Google India, as the interim country manager.

Speaking about his appointment, Lobana said that India’s dynamic spirit and Google’s cutting-edge technology created a wonderful synergy.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment to shape the future with artificial intelligence, opening up unprecedented opportunities for businesses to increase productivity, solve critical challenges and create innovative solutions. I am deeply committed to working with our talented teams and partners to drive economic growth and deliver meaningful value across India,” said Lobana.
