Insider Teases Surprise UFC Tampa Event – ‘Don’t Miss Colby Walkout’

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Tomorrow night (Sat. Dec. 14, 2024), the UFC will venture to Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida for the final event of the year. UFC Tampa is a fun card with some great match-ups, especially the main event between established contender Colby Covington and rising finisher Joaquin Buckley. The rest of the event features the usual mix of veterans, The Contenders series products, and a handful of particularly fun action fighters like Adrian Yanez and Joel Alvarez.

It’s not one of the best events of the year or anything, but it should be an exciting night with a live audience. If you’re looking for a little extra push to tune in, UFC commentator Brendan Fitzgerald teased a surprise in the main event. According to Fitzgerald’s comments during the MMAFighting weigh-in show, there is something specially planned during Covington’s strike.

“We always manage to top ourselves every year,” Fitzgerald began. “For the first time in a while, I’m thinking ‘what do we have to do in 2025 to surpass (UFC 300) and The Sphere?’ I don’t know, we’ll try and I’m sure we’ll come up with something…

“Don’t miss the Colby stretch. That’s all I want to say. It will be a moment, it will be fun.”

“Kaos” has put more effort into his UFC walkouts than many. Not only has Covington adopted the beloved Kurt Angle “YOU SUCK!” walkout, but he’s also been led to the cage by Lil Wayne of all people. If I were a betting man, I would lean towards the idea that Donald Trump is somehow involved…

Fight fans will just have to tune in tomorrow to find out the surprise.

Insomnia

… I don’t think Colby’s no-show gets any crazier than THIS!

Encouraging words from Coach of the Year 2024!

One of the big reasons for Team Khabib’s success is the fact that they really invest in their training camps and bring in elite partners and trainers.

Matt Serra is not impressed with both Sean O’Malley and coach Tim Welch.

This series of goofy clips reminds me of the random old Russian man who repeatedly and very loudly hurled his body-sized sacks during pro training.

The UFC has no idea what to do with Curtis Blaydes.

Uppercut vs. Overhand is always a dangerous game to play, but it REALLY worked here!

Follow-up shots made it official, but this fight was over when the right hand landed.
