Sabrina Carpenter has espresso martini-chugging contest with Stephen Colbert

Sabrina Carpenter and Stephen Colbert enjoyed sipping some espresso martinis in honor of her chart-topping song “Espresso” during her appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” Thursday.

The 60-year-old talk show host first asked the pop singer, 25, if she wanted to commit, and she replied: “I would love to.”

When Carpenter realized the drink was “very good,” she suggested, “Shall we have a chugging contest?”

Colbert immediately accepted the challenge and didn’t hold back, prompting the “Please Please Please” singer to jokingly tell him, “It’s so scary how fast you drank it.”

“Well, these desks come at a price,” the comedian shot back.

Colbert then steered the conversation toward her six Grammy nominations, but Carpenter admitted with a laugh, “I’m very drunk now,” before pushing the martini glass aside.

But she was then able to respond, sharing that “probably in five years” she’ll be able to look back on this time in her life and really process it all.

“I’m just trying to make eye contact with you and be as present as I can,” the “Bed Chem” singer joked.

“You know what I mean? But I feel so lucky. Singing is all I’ve ever wanted to do. Writing songs is my favorite thing in the world, so the fact that I could do that and people are listening , is sentimental, but it is a gift.”

Carpenter is up for Best Pop Solo Performance, Best New Artist, Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the Grammys. Her album “Short n’ Sweet” is nominated for album of the year and best pop vocal album.

In November, the “Feather” singer shared a video of her breaking down in happy tears over the news.

Later in his interview with Colbert, the host brought out another drink for Carpenter to try: an eggnog he called the “egnop-o.”

“Aren’t you full of a ‘nude’? It’s a simple question, Ms. Carpenter. Aren’t you good with a fool?” he asked, making the “Nonsense Christmas” singer look a little surprised that he was cursing.

When he asked if she was “surprised” he used a bad word, she replied: “No I’m not because they told me I can swear backstage and I forgot because people usually say that I’m not going to swear.

“So, I came out here and it looks like a church in here a little bit, and so I was like, “Don’t give a damn. The Lord is above us. I shouldn’t have done that’ and then you just did it.”

Carpenter ended the fun and light-hearted interview by sharing, “I fk with the ‘key now that you mention it.”
