Sabrina Carpenter puts on a brave face for first TV interview since Barry Keoghan split and wild cheating rumours

Sabrina Carpenter was all smiles during her first TV interview since her split from boyfriend Barry Keoghan.

The 25-year-old singer and actress appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday to promote her Netflix Christmas special A Nonsense Christmas.

While she didn’t discuss the split — or rumors that the breakup was fueled by Keoghan allegedly cheating on her with OnlyFans influencer Breckie Hill — Carpenter still put on a brave face for the outing.

The blonde bombshell wore a black mini dress that showed off her legs with gold buttons and a leopard print collar and cuffs.

She was all smiles as she discussed the special, her love of songwriting – inspired by The Beatles legend Paul McCartney – and much more.

She even sipped on an espresso martini and a bit of eggnog during the hilarious interview.

Host Stephen Colbert brought out the martini to toast her 6 Grammy nominations, including one for Best New Artist.

Carpenter revealed that the upcoming Grammy ceremony will be the first one she attends as she did not want to go as she was not nominated.

‘I was told I never wanted to join until I was nominated. I didn’t think it would be for all those categories, which is really special,’ Carpenter said.

When asked if she takes time to enjoy her success, she said: ‘When you’re young, you kind of get it. I don’t know how to describe it’.

‘When it happens, probably in five years I’ll look back at this moment like wow, so much happened at once. It’s hard to process it at the moment, she said.

‘I feel so lucky. Singing is all I’ve ever wanted to do. “Writing songs is my favorite thing in the world, so the fact that I could do it and people are listening is sentimental, but it’s a gift, so I’m very grateful,” she said to applause.

When asked by Colbert if it was true that The Beatles inspired her to write her own songs, she said that when she was young she was ‘struck’ by their 1969 song Rocky Raccoon.

‘I was so fascinated by that song and the songwriting of it that I fell in love with Paul McCartney. I was convinced that it was my husband, my future husband. He was quite old. I was so young that I didn’t realize he was much older than me because I was looking at all these pictures. No, he’s young, like ten years older than me. I didn’t understand math, she said.

Carpenter and Keoghan began dating in December 2023, although they split in December 2024, although an insider said they were just on a “break”.

Then just days later reports surfaced that Keoghan may have been cheating on Carpenter with an OnlyFans star Breckie Hill.

Keoghan would later deactivate his Instagram entirely and post a lengthy statement on his verified X account, saying his name was being “dragged across the internet.”

He said he deactivated his Instagram because he could no longer ‘let these things distract from my family and work’, although he did not confirm or deny the cheating allegations.

However, Breckie Hill issued a statement which read: ‘To put it simply for you all, no I didn’t come with Barry. I have never even met this man in my life. The only time I’ve seen him is on my TV screen after watching Saltburn.’
