Alone home children reunite for the first time in 30 years

Although legions of fans might want to revisit the 1990s Alone at home (and the 1992s Home Alone 2: Lost in New York) each year, the fictional McCallister children have not gotten back together for thirty years—until now.

On Sunday, December 8th, Devin Ratray, Kristen Minter, Michael Maronna, Angela Goethals and Jed Cohen reunited at Pandora’s Box Toys & Collectibles in Lafayette, NJ for a meet and greet. IN photos shared online, the quintet posed with each other and with fans. The store wrote on Instagram“This was the first time they had all been together in over 30 years!”

IN Alone at homeMacaulay Culkin stars as Kevin McCallister, the family’s youngest son who is accidentally left at home when the family goes to Paris for Christmas. Ratray, 47, played eldest brother Buzz. Minter, 59, played cousin Heather. Maronna, 47, played brother Jeff and Goethals, 47, played sister Linnie. Cohen, 48, rounded out the group as Cousin Rod.

Catherine O’Hara played Kevin’s mother, Kate, John Heard played father Peter, and Hillary Wolf played Kevin’s older sister, Megan. Before Home Alone 2Minter and Goethals did not return, but Kieran Culkin, Macaulay’s brother, joined as a second cousin.

Back in 2021, Ratray opened up to PEOPLE about his bond with his Alone at home costs and teased a reunion. “They’ve been planning a reunion online and I recently, like a few days ago, got on their messenger chat thread and I’ve been trying to keep up with Jed Cohen and Diana (Rein) and Terrie (Snell) and Angela Goethals and Hillary Wolf,” he said. Ratray also reprized his role as Buzz in the 2021s Home Sweet Home Alone on Disney+.

Ratray told PEOPLE he was always grateful for the film. “This film has become a legacy and has impacted families now for more than one generation,” he said. “Parents show children, children show grandchildren something that I was a part of. I don’t know what life has been like without Alone at homesince I just turned 13. I’ve come to realize that this movie is bigger than me. It’s bigger than any actor’s ego. It has become part of indelible imprints in the family – in their consciousness.”

Back in January, O’Hara, 70, spoke to PEOPLE about a lingering Alone at home debate – how wealthy the McCallisters are. Although she thought the family’s house was “pretty amazing”, she said she never considered their finances. “I was aware of how beautiful it was, but no, I never thought about their money,” she said. “That’s not where my head was when I made (the film). Of course they all went to Paris, right?”

Regarding her involvement in the film, O’Hara said that when she chooses films, “I have to worry about it all. I don’t care about playing a big part in a bad project. You want to be a part of something good , and that’s how you go.” Filming the movie “was lovely,” she said, adding, “All the kids who played our kids were just lovely.”
