Louisville Women’s Basketball, Kentucky WBB in AP Top 25 Poll

Louisville Women’s Basketball went 0-2 last week and was eliminated AP Top 25 rankings published Monday.

The Cardinals (5-4) gave up a 17-point lead and fell to then-No. 11 Oklahoma, 78-72, before being blown out by No. 2 UConn, 85-52.

Kentucky (7-1) lost its first game of the season, to no. 14 in North Carolina in the SEC/ACC Challenge, and is now ranked no. 16. The Wildcats are 2-1 against ranked opponents this season, with wins over the Cardinals and previously ranked Illinois.

Despite UK’s loss, the SEC has won the challenge10-6. That included wins by ranked teams South Carolina (third) and LSU (fourth). Texas (sixth) lost to No. 8 Notre Dame but is still ranked.

Duke (No. 9), which fell to the Gamecocks, 81-70, No. 22 NC State and no. 25 Georgia Tech rounds out the ACC’s ranked teams.
