Indiana football Curt Cignetti fake punt while leading Purdue 38-0

Curt Cignetti makes his mark in his first Old Oaken Bucket game.

The Indiana football coach had his team up 38-0 on Purdue in the third quarter when Hoosiers facing fourth and 6 from the Boilermaker 44-yard line. IU lined up to punt but faked it, and James Carpenter, a redshirt senior defensive lineman, ran 18 yards for the first down.

IU went on to score a touchdown on the drive.

Indiana is 10-1 on the season and looking to reach the College Football Playoff. Purdue on the other hand is 1-10 and soon to be 1-11.
