ForbesToday’s NEW ‘Connections’ tip and answer for November 28

Hello, bargain hunters! It’s Black Friday, which means you might be on the lookout for some killer deals. I’ve already bought a bunch of stuff on sale so I probably won’t be picking up anything else unless I find a killer discount.

One thing I found is the virtual reality headset for PlayStation 5. I’m sorry I don’t feel good about it so far.

I haven’t figured out how to get it to sit upside down so the image doesn’t blur while wearing my glasses. I also ran into a bug that made a VR version of Trombone Champa game i was very excited to check out, unplayable. I’ll stick with the PS VR2 a bit longer, but I’m already on the verge of returning it. So it goes.

Today’s NEW Connections advice and answers for Friday 29 November will come straight up.

How Connections plays

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. You get a new puzzle at midnight every day. You can play on NEW website or game app.

You are presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by finding out the connections between them. The groups can be things like clickable items, names of research study participants, or words with a body part in front.

There is only one solution to each puzzle and you have to be careful when it comes to words that can fit into more than one category. You can mix up the words to perhaps help you see connections between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the hardest. The purple group often involves puns.

Choose four words that you think fit together and press send. If you guess and you’re wrong, you lose a life. If you’re close to having a correct group, you may see a message telling you that you’re one word away from getting it right, but you still need to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, it’s game over. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen with some tips and if you’re really struggling, today’s is Connections answer. As with Wordle and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chat.

If you have one NEW Free access or Spil subscription, you can access the publication’s Connections file. This includes all previous games of Connectionsso you can go back and play any of them you missed.

Apart from the first 60 games or so, you should be able to find my tips for each grid via Google if you need them! Just click here and add the date of the game for which you need clues or the answers to the search query.

What are today’s connections answers?

Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll down the page any further until you’re ready to find out about today Connections answer.

This is your last warning!

Today’s Connections the answers are…

  • Yellow group — company (ENDAVOUR, ENTERPRISE, PROJECT, VENTURE)
  • Green group — units (HERTZ, MOLE, SECOND, VOLT)
  • Blue Group — MLB Team Member (NATIONAL, RAY, TIGER, TWIN)
  • Purple group — the first words in HBO shows (BOARDWALK, CURB, GAME, SILICON)

Not a perfect game today, but I’m happy to have back-to-back wins. Here’s how I managed:

I thought ENDEAVOR, ENTERPRISE, NATIONAL and HERTZ would form a group of car rental companies, but no! Realizing I was being sucked by a red herring, I swapped out the latter two for the yellow ones.

I had a feeling about TWIN and TIGER and it took me a moment to stare at them before the connection clicked. RAY was an easy addition, but I had to dig into my memory banks to remember the existence of the Washington Nationals (the others being the Tampa Bay Rays, Detroit Tigers, and Minnesota Twins).

I had a hunch that BOARDWALK referred to Boardwalk Empirebut instead of considering other HBO shows, I focused on pinpointing what I assumed were greens. HERTZ and VOLT obviously make sense together as types of measurements, as does SECOND. I somehow thought GAME would go with them.

So I guessed what I thought were the purple ones (including MOTH WARP) and I was one away. That’s when I realized what was going on here, so I got the purples and then the greens for a second win in a row.

For the record, the programs are referred to Boardwalk Empire, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Game of Thrones and Silicon Valley. My clue referred Band of Brothers, True Detective, True Blood and Six feet under.

A MOL, meanwhile, is used to measure a number of molecules or atoms. I learned something new today.

That’s all there is to it for today Connections clues and answers. Be sure to check my blog for tips and the fix for Saturday’s game if you need them.

PS There sure are a lot of great theme songs for HBO shows. Those from The Last Of Us, Game of Thrones and season 1 of The thread are personal favorites. But let’s leave it at that True blood. It was a perfect fit for that show.
