Black Friday store hours show when Walmart, Costco, Target, more will open

Black Friday salelike everything else about the holiday season, start well before the day itself.

Shoppers are used to it by now, after searching for discounted items from major retailers around the region for weeks. With many stores now close on Thanksgiving to allow employees to celebrate with loved ones, that advance shopping period can feel even more urgent.

But there’s still something special about working off some of that holiday meal by skipping to the back of a big box store or squeezing into a small room with dozens of other shoppers looking for that special gift.

Here are the stores with early sales and their opening hours for Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Measure Black Friday hours

Target stores close on Thanksgiving and open at 6 on Black Friday.

The retailer announced that it would offer almost two months in a row with offers for customers beginning November 1st and ending December 24th. Each day will have a “Deal of the Day” offer for Target Circle members.

Walmart Black Friday hours

Walmart stores closes for Thanksgiving and is open at 6 on Black Friday. Online sales for the store began at 4pm CST on November 11th. The in-store early bird sale will be from Friday, November 15th through Sunday, November 17th.

Home Depot, Lowe’s and Ace Hardware Black Friday hours

Both Home Depot and Lowe’s will be closed for Thanksgiving and reopen at 6 on Black Friday.

Lowe’s has not announced specific dates for their Black Friday sale, but many of its larger items are already marked down before the holiday. Home Depot began its Black Friday sales on November 6th and they continue through December 4th

Ace Hardware stores are independently owned and operated, so opening hours vary from location to location. The company said the majority of stores would close for Thanksgiving.

Costco Black Friday Hours

Costco stores will be closed on Thanksgiving and will open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Black Friday. Costco has online and in-store Black Friday deals up to the holidays, which began on 1 Nov.

Sam’s Club Black Friday Hours

All Sam’s club locations close on Thanksgiving and open at 8 on Black Friday. Black Friday deals begin for Sam’s Plus members on Wednesday, November 27 at 9:01 PM ET and begins for other members at 12:01 a.m. ET on Thanksgiving Day. Black Friday sale for the store on Monday, December 2.

Kohl’s Black Friday hours

Kohl’s announced that they would close stores for Thanksgiving and open them at 5 in the morning for Black Friday.

The store wants its “Black Friday week” from November 24 to 29. All customers can get 15% off qualifying purchases and can earn $15 Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent throughout the week.

TJ Maxx, Marshall’s and HomeGoods Black Friday hours

TJ Maxx, Marshall’s and HomeGoods will close on Thanksgiving and open at 7 on Black Friday.

Since these stores offer savings year-round, they tend to hold their Black Friday sales for the holiday season.

JCPenney Black Friday hours

JCPenney the shops open at on Black Friday. Stores close on Thanksgiving.

In 2023, The Black Friday sale ran from November 22nd to December 1stso it’s possible the store will have another week-long sale event.

Belk Black Friday hours

Belk stores closes on Thanksgiving and is open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. through Black Friday. Belk wants his Black Friday sale from November 22 to November 30.

Bass Pro Shops Black Friday Hours

Bass Pro Shops will be open from 9am to 6pm on Thanksgiving Day. It also opens at 05.00 on Black Friday and closes at 21.00

The store is hosting its “Holiday Head Start” sale now through November 24th.

REI Black Friday Hours

REI is closing its stores on both Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Barnes & Noble Black Friday hours

Barnes & Noble locations will be closed on Thanksgiving and have changed hours for the holiday. The store has not announced specific dates for an early Black Friday sale.

IKEA Black Friday opening hours

IKEA will be closed on Thanksgiving and open on Black Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The store has not announced specific dates for an early Black Friday sale.

Tractor Supply Co Black Friday hours

Tractor Supply Co. stores will be closed on Thanksgiving and open from 06.00 to 21.00 on Black Friday. The store has not announced specific dates for an early Black Friday sale.

PetCo and PetSmart Black Friday hours

Both PetCo and PetSmart will be closed on Thanksgiving.

PetSmart stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Black Friday, while PetCo stores will open at 8.00 and closes at 21.00.

PetSmart is offering early bird deals through November 17th. PetCo will have a sale in store and online from Saturday November 23rd through Saturday November 30th.

Staples Black Friday hours

Staples stores will be closed on Thanksgiving and open at 9 on Black Friday. There is an early holiday sale going on now. The store has not said when it will end.

Office Depot and OfficeMax Black Friday opening hours

Both Office depot and OfficeMax will be closed on Thanksgiving but will have regular hours on Black Friday.

The stores have not announced specific dates for an early Black Friday sale.
