‘I No Long Believe Anything I Hear’: Fans Triggered As Joe Rogan’s Reputation In Tardies After Billionaire Marc Andreessen’s Episode

When Donald Trump appeared in JRE episode #2219, people were already surprised. After all, Joe Rogan had previously claimed that he was not a Trump supporter and that he did not want him on JRE. So when the billionaire businessman appeared on the podcast as part of his 2024 presidential campaign, people felt that Rogan was reversing his previous stance and leaning toward Trump. Have social media users found more evidence to confirm this?

Well, in episode #2234, Rogan hosted Businessman Marc Andreessen. This was his third time at JRE, but his first time going full MAGA. While the duo discussed, among other things, Silicon Valley and the American food system, the conversation also included politics. As reported by ‘The San Francisco Standard’, Andreessen stated that he was “very happy” with the outcome of the presidential election. Actually Andreessen, who had donated $2.5 million to the pro-Trump Right for America PAC, also stated, “(It’s) morning in America.” He and his business partner, Ben Horowitz, had shared their support for Trump in July.

Further, in his conversation with Joe Rogan, Andreessen addressed the assassination attempt on Trump in July and called it “the most conspicuous display of physical prowess I have ever seen.” Had it been a success, “it could have gone horribly wrong for the whole world.”

The episode recorded more than a million views on YouTube in just over 24 hours, and it shows Andreessen’s MAGA discussion did not go down well with many fans. When Rogan had to announce his episode with Marc Andreessen, he wrote on Instagram, “One of the most brilliant people I’ve had the good fortune to speak with. Marc laid out some truly shocking details about how individuals with the wrong policies are being ‘rejected’ and how certain rules are in place to allow the government to completely control companies that they consider important. Really eye-opening stuff.” But here’s a twist.

Andreessen was a former Democrat and supported names such as Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. In fact, when Hillary Clinton failed to win the 2016 election, the businessman was upset. He voted for her. But this year, when he decided to support Trump over Kamala Harris, he saw doors slammed in his face in Silicon Valley. “This is actually true: There are now two kinds of dinner parties in Silicon Valley — they broke cleanly in half,” he told Rogan.

Who are the other Silicon Valley figures who have shown support for Trump? The long list includes Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla Motors and SpaceX), David Sacks (Partner at Craft Ventures), Chamath Palihapitiya (Founder of Social Capital), Shaun Maguire and Doug Leone (Partners at Sequoia Capital), Eoghan McCabe (CEO of Intercom) and many more.

But fans felt that Rogan, who previously would try not to side with JRE, was leaning toward Trump and this offended some of them. Let’s not forget that Elon Musk, who is an ardent Trump supporter, was also on the November 5th podcast.

So fans were quick to comment sarcastically under the Instagram post. What did they write?

Fans Slam Joe Rogan For Making His Podcast Too Political!

People who listened to the episode seemed to have strong opinions about it. The Silicon Valley figure spoke about how Elon Musk spent 18 hours in the office and had each employee explain what they were working on for five minutes. The podcaster was shocked to hear about effort that the Tesla founder took to ensure that each of his employees was heard properly. Still, fans weren’t impressed.

  • “It’s been a long journey, but I no longer believe anything I hear on this show.”
  • “Oh boy! Joe Rogan, the regular whisperer, is talking to yet another venture capitalist who was almost certainly recommended by JD Vance, Elon or Peter Thiel. I can’t wait to here all the working class issues they tackle lol.”

It’s not the first time to fans have rejected a guest on Rogan’s podcast. Previous, the didn’t like that Tom Segura was also invited to the show. What had caused this avalanche of disapproval was a series of posts the comedian had made on X a year before the podcast episode.

In a deleted post, he had written:The poor at the lowest level get mad, as they have been trained to do, when you point out their “happy to do as I’m told” servant mentality. They don’t value time because their time is worthless.”

Now, criticism is nothing new for the podcaster. He has had to face it several times. Remember when people accused him of spreading misinformation about JRE? Well, now many believe that Rogan is losing his neutral stance when it comes to politics.

  • “Right wing Joe with his right wing billionaire propaganda.”
  • “JRE is political now.”

  • “How funny @joerogan, your podcast used to be an escape, now it’s just a bastion of one-sided politics that even your comedian friends can’t find the fun in. Please please get into real life, not these detached weirdos who may not work in a normal grocery store.

While this episode with Marc Andreessen attracted criticism that was also part of fans who loved their discussion.

  • “Really good, especially the second half!”
  • “Great episode… Don’t miss this one!”
